IMPORTANT: THIS IS NOT A PROJECT MANAGER ROLE

Mission: Lead the product strategy, vision and development programs. Define and implement product and portfolio strategies that align with market needs and drive innovation from concept through launch.

Summary: Build business cases for new product introductions and conduct market validation with Product Marketing and Sales. Design and develop solutions based on customer specifications or sales requests. Own the product portfolio P&L: understand unit costs and contribution margins and establish lifecycle and cost reduction strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product & Portfolio Strategy: Create and execute product and portfolio plans. Keep management and stakeholders updated on positioning, release schedules and stakeholder engagement.
  • Vision & Evangelizing: Define a clear product vision and communicate it internally and externally. Act as product spokesperson at conferences, with customers, press and analysts when appropriate.
  • Pricing: Develop and apply pricing strategies; perform cost analyses and set price levels.
  • Roadmaps: Set priorities and future directions for the portfolio; publish and maintain roadmaps for internal and external audiences, including launches and lifecycle actions.
  • Innovation: Drive idea generation and prioritisation from customer insight and market trends. Collaborate with internal teams to gather high-value ideas.
  • Product Discovery: Deeply understand customer and buyer personas, explore problem spaces and validate concepts through structured methods such as prototyping.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collect, analyse, prioritise and document product requirements; define use cases and assess trade-offs with design and production.
  • Analysis: Identify market opportunities and prepare business cases to support investment decisions.
  • Design & Build: Manage development cycles, build prototypes, iterate on feedback and ensure product tasks meet QA, performance and customer requirements.
  • Operational Readiness & Trials: Coordinate internal roll-outs and system updates; manage and run internal/external trials and negotiate with partners and suppliers together with product marketing.
  • Cost Optimisation: Identify and implement cost reduction plans and decide on stop-sell actions when needed.
  • Technical Support: Provide third-level technical support to marketing and sales, including feasibility and pricing analyses; design QA test procedures for finished products.

Requirements

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Proven experience in product management, product strategy and product development, ideally in Manufacturing.
  • Experience with HVAC-R, industrial kitchens or other industrial applications of temperature/humidity sensors.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce data-backed proposals.
  • Fluency in Italian and English (minimum B2 — will be tested during selection).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office: Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Word (revisions, cross-references), PowerPoint (timed presentations) — skills will be tested.

Nice-to-have: knowledge of other European languages (Portuguese, Spanish, French, German).
