About the property

Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection is a hilltop Italian retreat in Florence offering extensive views of the historic centre and the Tuscan hills. Housed in 16th-century buildings set in terraced gardens, the hotel comprises 49 guest rooms, 28 suites and 6 grand suites. Dining and event spaces include La Gamella (fine-dining with a Chef's Table), Bar Bertelli (in the former principal's office), poolside Café Focolare, the original chapel Sala Dorati and Il Teatro. The resort features Aelia Spa in partnership with Furtuna Skin and a program of experiences inspired by Florence’s Renaissance heritage.

Role overview

As a Commis de Rang you will be a key support for the restaurant service team, helping to ensure each guest enjoys a seamless dining experience through attentive, efficient and professional service. This position is a practical role where learning, precision and strong teamwork are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Guest service & support: assist servers by delivering and refilling drinks, attending to guest requests and providing courteous support.
  • Table setup & maintenance: prepare and clear tables accurately, arranging cutlery, plates and glassware and maintaining a welcoming dining area.
  • Collaboration & teamwork: work closely with servers and restaurant staff to coordinate service and communicate guest feedback or special requests.
  • Cleanliness & sanitation: help keep the dining area spotless, wipe tables and surfaces, and follow food safety and hygiene procedures.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Commis de Rang is highly recommended.
  • Language skills: ability to communicate effectively in English and Italian.
  • Personal attributes: strong teamwork, reliability and attention to detail.
  • Availability: flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and public holidays.
