Position summary
Inspect guest rooms, public areas and the pool after cleaning to ensure they meet quality standards. Run sold-room reports, verify room status, identify discrepant rooms, set cleaning priorities and update the status of departing guest rooms. Assist Housekeeping management in overseeing daily operations and act as a liaison to coordinate efforts between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Laundry. Document and resolve room discrepancies with the Front Desk, prepare and distribute room assignment changes, communicate outstanding issues to the next shift and complete all required paperwork.
Responsibilities related to staff management and safety
Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counselling, disciplinary actions, motivation and coaching of employees. Adhere to all company safety and security procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents or injuries; and complete mandated safety trainings and certifications. Maintain a clean and professional uniform and appearance, preserve confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Guest service and communication
Welcome and acknowledge all guests following company standards, anticipate and respond to guests’ needs, assist guests with disabilities and express genuine appreciation. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and develop positive working relationships by listening and responding appropriately to employee concerns. Ensure compliance with quality expectations and standards.
Physical and technical demands
Be able to move, lift, carry and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds unassisted and heavier items with assistance. Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other equipment over uneven surfaces. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping. Be able to stand, sit, kneel or walk for extended periods throughout a shift. Use fine motor skills and hand‑eye coordination to grasp and manipulate items. Enter and retrieve work‑related information using computers and point-of-sale systems, and read or visually verify information presented in various formats (including small print). Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
