Collegio alla Querce, Auberge Resorts Collection is a hilltop retreat in Florence offering sweeping views of the Duomo and Tuscan hills. Housed in 16th-century buildings with terraced gardens, the property features multiple dining venues, event spaces, a spa and a range of curated guest experiences. The hotel comprises guest rooms, suites and several food & beverage outlets that deliver refined dining in a luxury setting.
Role overview
As a Commis de Rang you will provide essential support to the restaurant service team, helping to deliver precise, attentive and efficient dining experiences. This role is focused on assisting servers, maintaining the dining room and ensuring guests feel well looked after during service.
Main responsibilities
- Guest service & support: Assist servers by bringing beverages to tables, refilling drinks and responding to guest requests to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Table setup & maintenance: Prepare and clear tables efficiently, arranging cutlery, plates and glassware correctly and promptly removing used items to keep the dining area welcoming and orderly.
- Collaboration & teamwork: Work closely with servers and other restaurant staff to coordinate service, communicating guest feedback and requests clearly to help the team meet high standards.
- Cleanliness & sanitation: Help maintain top hygiene standards in the dining area by wiping tables, chairs and surfaces and strictly following food safety and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications & skills
- Experience: Prior experience as a Commis de Rang is highly recommended.
- Languages: Ability to communicate effectively in English and Italian.
- Personal skills: Strong teamwork attitude, reliability and close attention to detail.
- Availability: Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to departmental needs.
