Position summary: Operate and monitor washing, dry‑cleaning and drying equipment, including dosing chemicals and cleaning lint traps. Identify stained or damaged items and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, rewash or disposal. Check that items removed from washers, dryers or dry‑cleaning machines are clean and place them into clean linen carts. Set dryers to the proper time and temperature according to the fabrics in each load. After each cycle, remove lint and debris from dryer screens, dry‑cleaning filters and the drain trap. Fold laundered articles to the specified sizes either by hand or with a folding machine and keep accurate records of laundered items.

Safety, policies and teamwork: Comply with all company safety and security procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to your manager and complete required safety training and certifications. Follow company rules regarding conduct and appearance; ensure uniform and personal presentation are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality and protect company assets. Build and maintain positive working relationships, support the team to achieve shared goals and respond appropriately to colleagues’ concerns.

Quality and continuous improvement: Ensure work meets quality standards and help identify, recommend and implement improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and/or cost savings. Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines to spot defects and perform basic upkeep as needed. Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Physical requirements and environment: Be prepared to stand, sit or walk for extended periods or for an entire shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Work in narrow, confined or elevated spaces and on sloping, uneven or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling and stooping as required.

Preferred qualifications

• No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• No related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification required.
