Opportunity to join Jumeirah Capri Palace for the summer season 2026 as a Sommelier. The successful candidate will support the maintenance department and be involved in the following duties:
- Uphold the Heart of Jumeirah ethos and maintain the brand's quality standards during all wine and beverage services.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of wine varieties, producers and regions to give well-informed recommendations to guests.
- Prepare and update wine menus and oversee the wine cellar to ensure a varied and top-quality selection.
- Use expertise in food and wine pairings to elevate the dining experience for guests.
- Lead and supervise wine service, working with winemakers to continuously enhance the wine offering.
- Engage with guests across food & beverage outlets to assist with wine choices and improve their overall experience.
- Organise and host wine and champagne dinners, tastings and similar events to promote wine culture and drive revenue.
- Deliver comprehensive wine training to staff to guarantee they possess the required knowledge and service skills.
- Manage relationships with wine suppliers, negotiate agreements, and build wine lists that reflect the establishment’s standards and goals.
- Ensure compliance with beverage service protocols, health, safety and environmental rules, and resolve customer complaints promptly to maintain high satisfaction.

About you
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience in wine service and beverage operations and a college degree in Hospitality or from a Culinary Institute. Italian language is required.
